Taylor & Francis, a leading international academic publisher, are looking for an ambitious and motivated Editor to join a fast-growing, friendly and successful publishing team.
The Managing Editor will manage a list of Hydrology, Food and Life Science journals, steering its future development and evolution. This is a varied and demanding role which involves substantial international travel.

Core responsibilities include: building good relationships with a global group of academic editors and learned society contacts; overseeing the financial well-being of the journal list; realising opportunities for organic growth; ensuring that existing contracts are renewed; working seamlessly with colleagues in Marketing, Production and other departments; making presentations at editorial board meetings; preparing financial projections; conference attendance; and dealing with telephone calls, correspondence and routine enquiries.
The role also has scope for Commissioning work, supporting the acquisition programme of the Publisher.
Candidates should ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience in either a journal or books editorial environment. Applicants need enthusiasm, commercial acumen, flexibility, organisation and the ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as is a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
