Part-time Internship – Publicity (Children’s books)

We are looking for an enthusiastic publishing student to help us in our busy publicity department one day a week (Friday only) starting as soon as possible.  The position would be until September 2012 or longer by arrangement.

What do we do? 

Oxford University Press is one of theUK's leading publishers. Oxford Children's Books has something for every child with a children's list that includes picture books, fiction, poetry, home learning, dictionaries and non-fiction. Our list includes many award-winning authors, as well as debut authors and spectacular illustrators.

What will you be doing? 

The role will involve a large amount of vital administration tasks including data entry to help maintain our internal PR databases, mailings, making travel arrangements for authors and entering books for awards.  It will also include producing promotional material and literature and assisting with organising events and book launches.  There will be an opportunity to spend time with senior members of the children’s publishing team to understand more about this innovative and exciting area of publishing.

What are the hours? 

Usual working hours are 9.00am with an hour for lunch until 5.00pm.  Reasonable lunch expenses at the Oxford University Press canteen will be covered.
