Taylor & Francis Books have a vacancy for a Production Editor to help manage the production of books within the Psychology and Education team of our Production Editorial department.

The position involves overseeing the production of new titles from receipt of authors’ disk/typescript through to delivery of the final product.

Responsibilities include:

•       commissioning, and preparing material for, external suppliers;
•       assessing the quality of artwork and sample pages prepared by authors/suppliers;
•       preparing material for text and cover printers;
•       liaising with authors, commissioning editors, project managers, freelancers, typesetters, printers and designers;
•       providing authors and suppliers with relevant information and necessary support;
•       controlling schedules, budgets and quality of the end product;
•       contributing to a friendly team.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and negotiating skills. Experience of working in a book or journal production editorial environment would be useful, but is not essential. The ability to work effectively under pressure, both on your own initiative and as part of a team, is essential, as is an aptitude and enthusiasm for working with new technology and dealing with people.
