Taylor & Francis Group, a leading international academic publisher, now have a vacancy for a Publishing Editor in its Science & Technology Journals programme, working specifically with a list of journals in the areas of Mathematics, Statistics, History of Science and Science and Technology Studies.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities would include:
• assisting the Publisher in the management and development of this successful list of peer reviewed journals, including several ranked within the Science and Social Sciences Citation Indexes™;
• liaising with academic editors, professional societies, authors and colleagues within Taylor & Francis;
• preparing reports for editorial board meetings;
• representing Taylor & Francis at editorial board meetings and scientific conferences;
• market research and analysing data and information;
• budget preparation and analysis at journal and portfolio level;
• maintaining journal web sites within Taylor & Francis Online, our online publishing platform;
• managing administrative processes;
• dealing with phone calls, correspondence and routine enquiries.
Key competencies for this role include a proven ability for:
• Prioritising workload and working to deadlines;
• Positive problem-solving attitude;
• Excellent written and verbal communication;
• Working as part of a team;
• Learning and adapting to new systems.
The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and be willing to learn new business skills. Experience of academic journals publishing is required.
A high level of efficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is essential. Occasional travel to national and international meetings and conferences will be part of the role.
This position is based at our Milton Park offices and reports to the Publisher.
