Taylor & Francis Group, a leading international academic publisher, has an excellent opportunity for a Publishing Editor within the Journals Editorial department.

Responsibilities include:

•       Assisting the Managing Editor and Publisher in the management and development of our successful list of peer-reviewed journals.
•       liaising with academic editors and colleagues within Taylor & Francis
•       preparing reports for editorial board meetings, collating and analysing statistics
•       attending editorial meetings as required
•       organising meetings (in-house, external, launch events etc)
•       assisting with budget data gathering
•       developing content for our electronic journal resource centres and maintaining journal web sites
•       monitoring journal budgets in line with agreed budgets
•       supporting the permissions team in dealing with requests to reproduce and disseminate copyrighted owned or managed material
•       managing administrative processes
•       dealing with telephone calls, correspondence and routine enquiries
•       providing appropriate cover in the Managing Editor’s/Publisher’s absence

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level or equivalent and be willing to learn new business skills.

Good computer literacy, in particular familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and other MS Office programmes is essential, as is an eye for detail and a willingness to work to a high standard, as part of a small team.

Some travel to meetings and conferences may be required.

The role would suit someone looking for a first or second level job in academic publishing.

The position is based in our Milton Park office and reports to the Publisher.
