This is a new global role tasked with the management and strategic development of Wiley’s growing proprietary Open Access portfolio, supporting the company’s ambition to be a world-leading Open Access publisher. The Senior Publishing Editor, Open Access will work with colleagues globally to implement strategies for growth, content development, innovation and operations. Forging excellent working relationships with external editors and editorial boards, you’ll ensure that every journal meets its agreed commercial and publishing targets and responds to opportunities offered by innovative new publishing models.
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience of developing and launching journals both editorially and commercially and a driven individual with a track record of achieving targets. The successful candidate will either have direct experience within Gold Open Access publishing or demonstrate a strong understanding of the industry and its business drivers.
The Senior Publishing Editor, Open Access will be a creative thinker with a flair for approaching challenges in new and successful ways. The successful candidate will have a particular talent for interpreting external developments, transforming them into opportunities and implementing change and innovation. To be successful, the incumbent needs superior relationship management skills and a tried and tested ability to persuade, influence and realise business goals through the actions of others
