Suzanne Wilson-Higgins

Lion Hudson

Suzanne Wilson-Higgins has 27 years’ experience in publishing, bookselling, print-on-demand and ebooks. 

She is Managing Director of Lion Hudson Limited, Isle of Man, a member of the AFD Group of companies with parent company Zip Address limited, Isle of Man since August 2017, and a director of Lion Hudson IP Limited, England & Wales. Lion Hudson Limited is an independent book publisher of books by Christian authors for a broad readership, including high quality illustrated books, encompassing a wide range of biblical related topics for adults and bible retellings for children. Suzanne’s book The Impact of Print-on-demand on Academic Books was published by Chandos, an imprint of Elsevier in December 2017.

From January 2011 to February 2017 Suzanne was a board director of Lion Hudson PLC and she served as a senior manager under the administrator of “Lion Hudson PLC in administration” from February to August 2017.

As Commercial Director at Lightning Source UK Ltd (a subsidiary of Ingram Content Group), she launched print-on-demand and e-book services to the UK market in 2000 and over 9.5 years developed the business from start-up to a broad customer base across Europe.

Previously she served 5 years on the board of bookseller and library supplier BH Blackwell Ltd with responsibilities including electronic service development, marketing and publisher relations.  

Prior to 1995 she served 5 years with Reed-Elsevier plc subsidiaries (Heinemann, Butterworth-Heinemann and Reed International Books) commissioning business books, auditing digital rights, and championing digital publishing.

Suzanne has also undertaken projects for leading internet retailer The Book Depository (subsequently acquired by Amazon), an electronic technology service provider the Ninestars group based in India, XXIST marketing consultancy based in Manchester and a graphic design agency start-up The Design Company. She started her career with four years in the charitable sector marketing education and the arts including Scottish Opera and English National Ballet

She has an BA (Music History) from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde Business School. She is a member of the PCC for St Ebbes Church in Oxford, a local Parish councillor for Gosford & Water Eaton Parish, a trustee of charity Hagar International UK, and has served as a director/Rear Commodore of the Oxford Sailing Club.
